The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is a regional economic community headquartered in Gaborone, Botswana. SADC has 15 member states: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, the DRC, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
SADC holds some of the largest deposits of critical minerals in the world. These include 85% of the world's platinum reserves, 51% of the world's cobalt reserves, up to 41% of the world's chromium reserves, and vast reserves of manganese, graphite, copper, lithium, and rare-earths.
